The Pet Supplies "Plus" store in Milford, 750 General Motors Road, will host photos with Santa from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 15 and Dec. 16.
Paws for Life Rescue and Adoption will host a pet adoption event featuring dozens of dogs, puppies, cats and kittens looking for a lifelong, loving home from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 22 at Pet Supplies "Plus," 750 General Motors Road in Milford. The event will also feature free nail clipping with every adoption, a holiday bake sale, holiday shopping for your furry friends and a fund and supply drive for Paws for Life - bring an item from the wish list or monetary donation to give the animals food, fun and play. The top wish list item is collapsible crates and cages.

The Michigan Humane Society Rochester Hills Center For Animal Care will host "Pet Projects," a program that gives children ages 7 to 13 the opportunity to help the animals in their community, from 3-5 p.m. Jan. 19 at the facility, 3600 W. Auburn Road. "Pet Projects" participants, accompanied by their parent/guardian, will have the opportunity to help in many ways, including: Making kitty forts, brightly colored and decorated cardboard boxes that help alleviate stress and keep cats happy while searching for their new forever homes; Snuggle Blankets, soft, hand-made blankets that provide a sense of security and familiarity for the animals while looking for their forever home; and Pupsicles, a yummy treat for pups of all ages, made with dog food and treats.
