Attention pet lovers! America's Family Pet Expo returns to the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi on Nov. 17, 18 and 19.

This popular nonprofit event features the opportunity to visit up close and personal with over 1,000 animals appearing in stage shows, competitions and demonstrations; to engage in one-on-one learning sessions with breeders and trainers; to adopt a pet from hundreds available at the event; to enjoy numerous interactive animal attractions; and to get a jump on holiday shopping for gifts for pets and pet lovers.

Animals at the event include nearly 100 breeds of dogs and cats as well as birds, fish, llamas, reptiles, pigs, rats, mice, goats, rabbits, miniature animals and more.

The public is asked not to bring their own pets to the event.

America's Family Pet Expo's schedule of attractions includes:

  • Holiday Shopping Mart. Thousands of pet products will be on sale to the public.

  • Schmackos Extreme Canine Show. This action-packed performance of former shelter dogs turned performance athletes includes Fur Flying Agility Racing, Freestyle Flying Dogs, Dog Dancing and High-Jump Challenge.

  • Cat Lovers Festival. Learn all about numerous breeds of cats, see them in action, talk to breeders and owners about breed characteristics, training and nutrition, and buy the latest products for your cat.

  • Exotic Bird Show. Joe Krathwohl performs with his array of amazingly talented birds including a juggling macaw, an eagle and a rare Black Cockatoo who plays basketball.

  • Creepy Crawly Critters Show. Joe Krathwohl also presents his display of reptiles, insects and other assorted creatures.
