Pet Sitters and Animal Watchers of Southeast Michigan (PAWS MI) is hosting a doggie ice cream social for local pet owners and pets from noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27. The ice cream social will be held at Wildwood Park in Madison Heights. Wildwood Park is located off of 11 mile, 4 blocks east of John R. All of the donations from the ice cream sales will go to the Royal Oak Animal Shelter.
The GreyHeart Greyt Garage Sale and Meet & Greet will be held from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 9 at 842 St. Clair in Grosse Pointe. GreyHeart Greyhound Rescue and Adoption of Michigan is devoted to the rescue and adoption of retired racing greyhounds. For more information, call 1-866-GET-GREY.
GreyHeart Greyhound Rescue and Adoption of Michigan will present the Canton PetsMart Meet & Greet from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 10 at 41856 Ford Road (north side). GreyHeart Greyhound Rescue and Adoption of Michigan is devoted to the rescue and adoption of retired racing greyhounds.
The Southeastern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association will present Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo (5 & 10 K run, 1 mile walk) on Sept. 16 with proceeds benefitting the Detroit Zoo. Call 888-736-8625 for details.
Re/Max Professional is holding their 2nd annual Adopt a Pet Open House from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24. The animals will be provided by the Michigan Animal Rescue League, which is a non-profit organization. Re/Max Professional is located at 1415 Walton Blvd. in Rochester Hills, (just W. of Livernois and next to Rochester High School). If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but want to help, donations to Michigan Animal Rescue are welcome, and include the following: dog and cat food, cages, collars and leashes, cat litter, paper towels and toilet paper, hand sanitizer and gas cards.
